The 2026 Volksfest starts on Wednesday, June 3rd, the eve of Corpus Christi, with a concert in the market square and the subsequent Volksfest procession to the festival grounds. This marks the beginning of the multi-day festival tent operation in Schwarzach.

Getting There
Schwarzach is located in the district of Straubing-Bogen, easily accessible via the Straubinger Straße. Parking is available in the town area. The festival grounds and market square are within walking distance of each other.

A Volksfest with Tradition in the Bavarian Forest
The Schwarzacher Volksfest is one of the fixed events in the calendar of the market town of Schwarzach on the edge of the Bavarian Forest. For several days, the festival grounds transform into a meeting point for the entire community and the surrounding villages in the district of Straubing-Bogen.
From the Concert to the Festival Tent
The festival opens on Wednesday evening with a concert in the market square, followed by the festive Volksfest procession to the festival grounds. The festival tent operation then begins with brass music, regional food, and convivial get-togethers.
