Winter village in Kirchheim's city center with mulled wine, live music, and hut atmosphere
When the huts are set up on the Rossmarkt in Kirchheim unter Teck at the beginning of November, it's Hüttengaudi time. For three weeks, from November 5th to 22nd, 2026, the Kirchheimer Rossmarkt transforms into a winter wonderland of huts — a mix of après-ski atmosphere, a cozy winter market, and a live music hub. Hüttengaudi is now an established part of the Kirchheim event calendar and the unofficial kick-off to the pre-Advent and Advent season.
Several wooden huts, decorated with fir trees, fairy lights, glass baubles, and winter accessories, are erected on the Rossmarkt — a central square in Kirchheim's city center. With a small fireplace in the middle, cozy seating nooks, and a gondola bar (an old cable car gondola converted into a small bar), the atmosphere is just like on a ski lodge — only without the trip to the Alps.
The high-quality mulled wine comes from Weingut Kern — a renowned Württemberg winery that specifically pours its mulled wine in the hut for Hüttengaudi. In addition, non-alcoholic hot drinks, hot chocolate, punch, and "sparkling hut drinks" (sparkling wine and wine cocktails) are offered. A real alternative to the industrial mulled wine found at larger Christmas markets.
A varied live program runs over the three weeks:
The opening hours are cleverly coordinated with the city's rhythm:
On weekdays, Hüttengaudi opens only after work hours — just right for Kirchheim commuters returning home from Stuttgart.
Hüttengaudi consciously positions itself as a format for company parties and group evenings. Huts can be reserved for corporate groups, clubs, or social events. An attractive format integrated into daily city life, competing with traditional restaurant Christmas parties.
Kirchheim unter Teck is located in the Esslingen district on the northern edge of the Swabian Jura — directly at the foot of the famous Teck Castle. The medieval city center with its market square and historic buildings is well-preserved, and the Rossmarkt is centrally located on the edge of the pedestrian zone. You can reach Kirchheim from Stuttgart in 35 minutes by S-Bahn S1 — ideal for soaking up the Hüttengaudi atmosphere for a few hours after work.
