530 Years of Culture Hügelsheim — edition 2026
From Friday, July 24, 2026, to Monday, July 27, 2026, Hügelsheim will celebrate a unique association anniversary: the four Hügelsheim cultural associations — Church Choir (200 years), Singing Association (150 years), Music Association (125 years), and HCC Carneval Club (55 years) — are combining their ceremonies into a joint weekend.
Over four days, the entire spectrum of Baden association culture will be on display: church music concerts, secular choir evenings, brass band performances, carnival shows, an ecumenical service, and a grand parade through the village. Friendly associations from the Hanauerland and the Rastatt district are invited. The detailed program will be published on 530jahre.de.

530 Years, Four Associations, One Festival
In Hügelsheim, a municipality on the edge of the Rhine floodplain in the Rastatt district, four cultural associations are combining their round anniversaries into a unique event. From July 24th to 27th, 2026, the Church Choir (200th anniversary), the Singing Association (150 years), the Music Association (125 years), and the HCC Hügelsheim Carneval Club (55 years) will jointly celebrate their 530-year heritage. Instead of organizing their own festivities, the four boards have decided to join forces — a model project for community cooperation that is attracting attention in Baden-Württemberg.
Four Associations, Four Stories
The Hügelsheim Church Choir looks back on 200 years of church music tradition in 2026, making it the oldest of the four associations. The Singing Association, with 150 years, preserves secular choral heritage — from classic folk song traditions to modern choir projects. The Music Association Hügelsheim celebrates its 125th birthday and represents the Baden brass band tradition with its own youth band. The youngest member is the HCC Hügelsheim Carneval Club, turning 55 and anchoring the South Baden carnival tradition in the community.
Four Days of Full Program
The festival weekend will likely begin on Friday evening with an opening ceremony and a celebratory concert. Saturday will traditionally focus on interaction: association evenings, show programs by the HCC's dance troupes, a grand stage program, and dancing. Sunday will open with an ecumenical service, jointly organized by the Church Choir and the Music Association, followed by a grand parade through Hügelsheim, in which friendly associations from the region will participate. Monday will conclude with a relaxed closing celebration.
Hügelsheim — A Baden Village with Character
Hügelsheim is located in the Rastatt district on the western edge of Baden-Württemberg, just a few kilometers from the Rhine and the French border. The municipality, with its approximately 5,000 inhabitants, has maintained a vibrant association life — especially the four jubilant cultural associations are the backbone of the village's identity. Visitors here will experience pure Baden conviviality: lots of music, good food, Baden wine, and people who love their associations. The 530th-anniversary celebration is a rare opportunity to experience this culture in a concentrated form.
