Chamber Music in a Historic Setting
The Leitheim Castle Concerts combine top-class chamber music with the unique atmosphere of a baroque castle. Leitheim Castle, picturesquely located on a hill above the Danube in the Leitheim district of the municipality of Kaisheim, houses a magnificent Rococo ballroom that has served as a concert venue for decades.
International Program
Throughout the season, the festival presents about ten concerts featuring renowned ensembles from all over Europe. String quartets, piano trios, wind ensembles, and vocal groups interpret a broad repertoire ranging from Baroque and Viennese Classicism to Romanticism and the Modern era. Works by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Ravel, and Wagner are featured, as are contemporary compositions.
Summer and Autumn Series
The concert season is divided into a summer series in June and July and an autumn series in October. A family concert is specifically aimed at young audiences. Concerts are predominantly held on Saturdays at 5:30 PM and Sundays at 11:00 AM. Recordings by BR-KLASSIK help to broadcast the concerts beyond the region.
Tradition and Sponsorship
The series is supported by Kulturmanagement Schloss Leitheim gUG in cooperation with the artist agency Sudbrackmusik, as well as a circle of patrons and regional supporters. The Leitheim Castle Concerts are among the traditional classical music festivals in Bavarian Swabia.
Leitheim Castle Concerts — edition 2026
The 2026 concert season opens on June 20 and 21 with the Quatuor Voce and Violaine Despeyroux, who will interpret Mozart's string quintets. This will be followed by the Quatuor Agate with guests (June 27/28) performing works by Wagner, Ravel, Chausson, and Strauss, the Ensemble 4.1 Piano Windtet (July 4), the NOVO Quartet (July 5), the a cappella ensemble Apollo5 (July 11), and Lionel Martin and Demian Martin with Schubert and Rachmaninoff (July 12).
The autumn series in October features a family concert with Duo Naiades (October 4), the Avin Trio performing works by Clarke, Beethoven, and Brahms (October 10), and the Quatuor Danel (October 11).

Getting There
Leitheim Castle is located in the Leitheim district of the municipality of Kaisheim, above the Danube valley. By car, take the A9/A8 towards Donauwörth, then continue via Kaisheim. Parking is available at the castle.
Tickets
Tickets are offered online in the ticket shop. Regular admission is 41 Euros, with a reduced price of 10 Euros for students with proof of enrollment. There is a waiting list for sold-out concerts; a combination ticket for three concerts is offered at a preferential price.
