34th Edition — Three Weeks of Ceramics in Hüfingen
For over three decades, the Hüfingen International Ceramics Weeks have been among the most distinguished ceramics festivals in Southern Germany. From September 12 to October 4, 2026, the 34th edition will take place in the historic city center of Hüfingen. Three weeks of ceramics programming in various venues: the pottery market on Sennhofplatz, high-quality exhibitions in the City Museum for Art and History, and the competition exhibition in the Rathaus-Galerie.
International Pottery Market on Sennhofplatz
The actual core of the festival is the pottery market on the weekend of September 12/13, 2026, on the picturesque Sennhofplatz in the old town. Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. International ceramists present their works — functional ceramics, unique pieces, sculptures, jewelry, architectural ceramics. The market stalls offer direct interaction between artists and collectors.
High-Quality Exhibitions at the City Museum
Parallel to the market, from September 12 to October 4, 2026, two parallel exhibitions will be held at the City Museum for Art and History. The exhibitions present national and international contemporary ceramics and offer a curated overview of the current developments in the medium of ceramics. Renowned ceramists from Germany, Europe, and other continents are represented.
Competition in the Rathaus-Galerie
In the Rathaus-Galerie, the competition exhibition showcases works by the pottery market participants. A panel of experts judges the works based on originality, technical quality, and artistic expression. The prize winners will be honored during the pottery market and receive additional visibility within the ceramics scene.
Hüfingen — Town in the Schwarzwald-Baar District
The town of Hüfingen, with around 8,000 inhabitants, is located in the Schwarzwald-Baar district, directly at the transition between the Black Forest and the Baar plateau. Hüfingen is one of the oldest towns in the region — the old town with its historic sandstone houses and Sennhofplatz forms the perfect backdrop for a traditional arts and crafts festival. Hüfingen-Stadt train station is on the Schwarzwaldbahn (Konstanz–Offenburg).
Over 30 Years of Ceramics Tradition in Hüfingen
The Hüfingen Ceramics Weeks have existed since the 1990s — founded by dedicated citizens, artists, and the city administration as a cultural statement in the Schwarzwald-Baar region. Today, the Hüfingen ceramics address is firmly established: it attracts collectors, gallery owners, and students from all over Central Europe and is a must-visit for the German ceramics scene.
