Three days of street festival in the historic old town — the big Hüfingen festival every four years
The Hüfinger Stadtbächlifest is Hüfingen's major town festival, held only every four years — and precisely because of this, it becomes a particularly anticipated event in the citizens' calendar. The next edition runs from Saturday, July 25, to Monday, July 27, 2026. Organized by the City of Hüfingen with its clubs.
The festival stretches along the Hauptstraße of Hüfingen's old town — from the Sparkasse to the F.F.-Altenpflegeheim. Stalls, stands, and stages are set up along this central axis, turning the entire city center into a large festival area. Local clubs each operate their own stall, offering diverse culinary highlights — from Swabian specialties to pizza and tarte flambée, as well as coffee and cake.
The official self-description by the City of Hüfingen — 'Laubendorf voller guter Laune und Stimmung' — aptly captures the festival's atmosphere: not a sterile festival setup with stage barriers, but an open street festival where club members, families, young people, and seniors meet at the stalls. Three days of an eventful city center with music, catering, community, and exuberant summer flair.
A diverse stage program runs over the three festival days. Live bands (cover, Schlager, rock, folk), brass bands (especially Sunday morning), dance groups, children's programs, and cultural contributions from Hüfingen's clubs. The clubs — from sports clubs and music clubs to social communities — manage the catering, ensuring a broad distribution of festival revenue within the local club scene.
Hüfingen (Schwarzwald-Baar district, district code 08326, approx. 8,000 inhabitants) is located in the high Black Forest-Baar region between Donaueschingen and the Swiss border. The historic old town with its distinctive remnants of the town wall, the former Hüfingen Castle, the late Gothic town parish church, and the characteristic half-timbered houses make the town one of the most beautiful small historic town ensembles in Baden-Württemberg. Hüfingen is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site 'Frontiers of the Roman Empire — The Danube Limes' (since 2021), as the Roman fort of Brigobannis was located here.
Admission to the Stadtbächlifest is free. Food and drinks at the stalls are at fair club festival prices. Families will find a children's program with games, face painting, and small activities — perfect for a family outing on a summer weekend.
From July 25 to 27, 2026, Hüfingen's historic old town transforms into a three-day street festival. The Hauptstraße between the Sparkasse and the Altenpflegeheim becomes the 'Laubendorf' of Hüfingen's clubs, who provide catering with their own stalls — Swabian specialties, pizza, tarte flambée, beer, wine, cider.
