Handmade Christmas Market with Unique Items
In a year when the main Christmas markets are increasingly dominated by industrial vendors, the Holly-Jolly Handmade Weihnachtsmarkt in Waiblingen presents a conscious counter-model: only artisans and small manufacturers who produce their goods themselves come to the market. The organizers' motto is clear: 'Handmade is more personal, it's diversity and takes time.' This fundamentally distinguishes the market from ordinary Christmas markets – there is neither imported ware nor standard assortments here.
The exhibitors are carefully curated by the organizing team. The spectrum includes jewelry from regional workshops, ceramics and pottery, textiles (hand-woven scarves, knitted hats, sewn gifts), natural cosmetics from small manufacturers, wood carvings and wooden decorations, candles and soaps from own production, as well as culinary specialties such as homemade jams, liqueurs, chocolates, and honey. Each piece is unique – what you find at the Holly-Jolly stand, you probably won't find anywhere else.
The venue is the festival grounds at Casa Verde in Waiblingen's Ameisenbühl, on Schmaler Pfad. Casa Verde is a well-known event and restaurant complex in Waiblingen that provides the infrastructure for the market. The facility offers covered areas and outdoor stalls, allowing the market to take place regardless of the weather. Mulled wine, children's punch, grilled specialties, crêpes, and sweet classics complete the culinary offerings. Live music and festive lighting create the Advent atmosphere.
Waiblingen is the district capital of the Rems-Murr district in Baden-Württemberg, located at the confluence of the Rems and Neckar rivers in the Stuttgart metropolitan area. The city, with its approximately 56,000 inhabitants, offers a charming historic old town where the traditional Waiblingen Christmas market takes place annually. The Holly-Jolly Market at Casa Verde is a welcome addition – the traditional market in the old town in November/December for the classic Christmas market experience, and the Holly-Jolly Market in November for a curated selection of handicrafts. Visiting both offers a complete experience of Waiblingen's Advent diversity.
