In mid-July, the Volksfest grounds in Hohenwart, in Bavaria's Hallertau region, transform for four days into a classic Upper Bavarian Volksfest with a beer tent, brass band music, amusement rides, and regional snack specialties. The Hallertau is the world's largest contiguous hop-growing region – hops and beer shape the region's identity and thus the festival.

The Hohenwarter Volksfest 2026 runs from Friday, July 17 to Monday, July 20, 2026, on the Volksfest grounds. Beer tent, stage with live music and dance bands, beer service, amusement rides, food stalls – the classic program of an Upper Bavarian Volksfest. Hosted by the market town of Hohenwart.

The 2026 edition follows the established program of previous years. The exact daily schedule with performances by dance bands, the ceremonial tapping of the first beer keg, the parade, and the family day will be published on the market town's website before the Volksfest.

Getting There

You can reach Hohenwart by car via the B 300. Parking is available near the Volksfest grounds. You can use local buses from Pfaffenhofen and Aichach.

The Hohenwarter Volksfest is one of the traditional summer Volksfests in the Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm district in Upper Bavaria's Hallertau region.
