Over 100 Years of Volksfest Tradition
The Hohenloher Volksfest Blaufelden is one of the oldest Volksfests in Hohenlohe — the tradition dates back to the early 20th century. Every Pentecost weekend, Blaufelden, a municipality with around 5,500 inhabitants on the railway line between Crailsheim and Bad Mergentheim, becomes one of the largest Volksfest locations in Hohenlohe. The festival is known beyond the municipal borders and attracts visitors from the entire Hohenlohe district, Middle Franconia, and the Tauber region.
Amusement Park — Showmen from all over Southern Germany
The festival grounds at the school center offer an attractive amusement park: Ferris wheel, bumper cars, chain carousel, Wilde Maus, haunted house, shooting galleries, candy stalls, and children's carousels. Showmen from all over southern Germany travel with their attractions. Four days of peak activity on Pentecost Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
Market with 70 Stalls
A classic market with around 70 stalls complements the festival offerings — textiles, tools, household goods, sweets, leather goods, toys, regional specialties. The market is a tradition rooted in the Hohenlohe district — here you can buy what you can't find in regular retail.
Trade Fair in the Market Hall
A dedicated trade fair in the market hall and outdoor area showcases the achievements of the Hohenlohe economy: agricultural technology, crafts, construction, energy services, tourism offers, banks and insurance companies, gastronomy. The trade fair is a showcase for the small and medium-sized enterprises of Hohenlohe and a meeting place for business and citizens.
Parades on Pentecost Sunday and Monday
The visual highlight is the two large parades on Pentecost Sunday and Monday. Clubs, music bands, traditional costume groups, floats, costumed walking groups, and historical formations march through the streets of Blaufelden. Thousands of spectators line the parade route.
Alpine Hut Village Ambiance and Family Offer
Catering is organized by the Kübler showman family in the so-called "Almhüttendorf-Ambiente" (Alpine Hut Village Ambiance) — decorated catering units in alpine style, with traditional cuisine and a large selection of beers, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Oldtimer Meeting on Pentecost Monday
A special highlight on Pentecost Monday, May 25, 2026, is the Oldtimer meeting in front of the school. Registration is free, participants receive drink vouchers. The Oldtimer scene of Hohenlohe and Franconia travels here — from pre-war classics to 1980s sports cars, all generations are represented.
Blaufelden — Hohenlohe on the Border with Franconia
Blaufelden is located in the easternmost part of the Hohenlohe district on the border with Middle Franconia (Bavaria). The municipality with its medieval town center, Gothic church, and location on the Crailsheim–Bad Mergentheim route is an important transport hub. Visitors to the Volksfest can combine their stay with excursions to the Hohenlohe Land, the Tauber Valley, or Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
