HobaFäschd Münchingen — 27th edition of the Münchingen town festival
When the main street of Münchingen is closed to traffic on the second weekend in May and the district transforms into a lively festival area, HobaFäschd is back. On May 9 and 10, 2026, the 27th edition of the Münchingen town festival will take place — a proven format organized by the town of Korntal-Münchingen in cooperation with local clubs, shops, and institutions. Here you will experience a classic Swabian town festival with a special focus on the arts and crafts market and Sunday shopping.
Arts and Crafts Market
The popular arts and crafts market is the highlight of the HobaFäschd. Regional artisans present their work on the main street — jewelry, ceramics, textile art, leather goods, wood carvings, glass beads, watercolors, photography, and much more. Unlike commercial markets, everything here is handmade and individual. You can talk to the artists personally, watch the creation of works, and find a piece of craftsmanship that is unique in its form.
Clubs, Businesses, and Local Diversity
The local clubs of Münchingen's community life provide catering at their own stands: sports clubs, music clubs, church communities, the fire department, and carnival societies are all represented. You will find Swabian classics — Maultaschen, sausage salad, schnitzel, fries, Flammkuchen — as well as cocktails, beer, Württemberg wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. Local businesses and institutions complement the offerings — many present their work on the festival day.
Stage and Supporting Program
On the stage in the festival tent and at several locations in the town center, there is a diverse stage program. Concerts by local bands, performances by the music club, dance performances by dance clubs, and folklore groups alternate. For children, there are special play and craft corners as well as bouncy castles. Sports clubs offer interactive activities — from simultaneous chess to table tennis tournaments and small football camps.
Sunday Shopping
The Sunday shopping offers the only opportunity of the year to shop in Münchingen's stores on a Sunday. Local owners present their assortments — many offer promotions, special deals, and festival specials. The combination of the arts and crafts market and the Sunday shopping day makes the HobaFäschd one of the most attended events of the Münchingen year.
Korntal-Münchingen — Tradition and Pietism
The town of Korntal-Münchingen, with around 19,000 inhabitants, is located northwest of Stuttgart in the Ludwigsburg district. Korntal was founded in 1819 as a Pietist community of brethren and remains religiously influenced to this day. Münchingen is the older part of town with a traditional Swabian-Württemberg identity — and has been a vibrant festival location with the HobaFäschd for over two decades. The mix of the two districts makes the municipality particularly interesting in terms of urban development and culture.
