The Blumberger Mühle — Architecture and Nature Trail

The NABU Nature Experience Center Blumberger Mühle, opened in 1996, is an architectural gem in the Uckermark: a huge wooden building in an egg shape, sitting like a futuristic insect egg in the landscape. It is a teaching center, research facility, and destination for excursions all in one. Location: 5 km east of Angermünde on the edge of the UNESCO Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve, one of Germany's most important nature conservation areas.

Autumn Festival: Uckermark Regional Market

The autumn festival on September 13, 2026, starting at 10 a.m., is the largest annual open-air event at the NABU Center. Regional producers from the Uckermark present wine, cheese, honey, jam, smoked fish, and sausage. The apple tasting — various varieties from Uckermark's traditional orchards — is a must for pomologists and nature lovers.

Stage Program and Show Cooking

The P&F Blues Company — an established regional blues band — will perform on stage. The show cooking format "Kochkommode" demonstrates how regional ingredients can be used in the kitchen. The improvisation theater "Backsteindorsche" provides humorous accents. In addition, there are creative activities for children, nature tours, and workshops.

Nature Conservation as an Experience

The Blumberger Mühle sees itself not only as an event venue but also as a mediator of nature conservation. The autumn festival combines market day and environmental education — families can also visit the nature trail, the insect museum, and the nature learning garden.
