The Finale of the Harburg Shooting Season
When the Heimfelder Vogelschießen takes place, the shooting season in the Harburg district is almost over. It is traditionally the last major Vogelschießen event of the year in the south of Hamburg — and thus the cozy, almost melancholic conclusion to a summer full of Schützenfeste in Marmstorf, Neuenfelde, Rönneburg, and Eißendorf.
The Heimfelder Schützenverein von 1890
The organizer is the Heimfelder Schützenverein von 1890 e.V. — one of the oldest marksmen's clubs in southern Hamburg. Club life revolves around the annual king's proclamation and the Vogelschießen; currently, the Queen and her court lead the club through the current year.
