About Heidelbeerwoche
Heidelbeerwoche — edition 2026
2026 Festival Week
From Saturday, July 18 to Sunday, July 26, 2026, Enzklösterle will celebrate the wild blueberry for a whole week. The venue alternates between the festival grounds and the spa park, depending on the program item — market and festival evening on the festival grounds, lectures and quieter events in the spa park.
The absolute highlight is the Blueberry Festival on Saturday, July 25, 2026: an all-day market with over twenty stalls dedicated to the blueberry — fresh berries, homemade jams, liqueurs, and brandies, baked goods (blueberry strudel, pancakes, cakes), crafts, and regional gastronomy. In the evening, from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM, a festival with live music under the open sky, with catering provided by local associations. Admission is free.

The Blue Gold of the Northern Black Forest
Anyone strolling through the forests around Enzklösterle will discover the wild blueberry in July between heather and moss — smaller, more aromatic, and deeper blue than the cultivated varieties from the supermarket. This wild blueberry has shaped life in the small community in the Calw district for generations: collected, cooked, fermented, distilled — it is both identity and economic asset. The Heidelbeerwoche turns this tradition into a nine-day festival.
2026 Program — One Week, Many Occasions
The 2026 edition runs from Saturday, July 18 to Sunday, July 26, 2026. The focus is on the Blueberry Festival on Saturday, July 25: a day market on the festival grounds with sales of fresh wild blueberries, homemade blueberry products (jam, liqueur, syrup, baked goods), regional gastronomy, and crafts. In the evening, from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM, the festival grounds transform into a summer stage with live music and catering — free admission.
Accompanying the festival week, local restaurants and cafés offer special blueberry menus: from wild blueberry strudel to blueberry pancakes to braised venison with blueberry jus. Guided hikes into the berry forests are usually part of the weekly program, as are lectures on the Black Forest flora in the Enzklösterle spa park.
A Tradition with Depth
The blueberry is more than just summer fruit in the Northern Black Forest. It used to grow in such abundance that "blueberry weeks" were economically crucial for families — the berries were sold at markets in Pforzheim, Wildbad, and Calw. Today, the blueberry tradition is under pressure (climate change, bark beetles, forest conversion), and events like this ensure its survival in local festival calendars. Enzklösterle, nestled between the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse and the Enz valley, becomes the main stage for this tradition.
Kultursommer Nordschwarzwald as a Framework
The Heidelbeerwoche is part of the Kultursommer Nordschwarzwald, a regional event series that bundles the cultural highlights of the region from May to September. Thus, the festival week is embedded in a broader movement that makes Black Forest identity, natural treasures, and customs visible — without folkloric exaggeration, but authentically and regionally rooted.
