Art exhibition and open-air concerts at the Heimathaus Jesteburg
For decades, the Heimathaus Jesteburg at Niedersachsenplatz 1 has served as a meeting place for the history and culture of the municipality of Jesteburg. With its indoor exhibition spaces, adjoining garden, and location in the town center, it offers the ideal backdrop for cultural events of all sizes.
The Jesteburger Podium is the voluntary organizer of the cultural day. Throughout the year, the group organizes concerts, readings, and exhibitions, making the Heimathaus an active cultural center in the Nordheide region. The Day of Art and Music is one of the highlights of the annual program, combining several program strands into a single day.
From 11 AM, the art exhibition opens in the rooms of the Heimathaus. Regional artists present paintings, graphics, and sculptures in a curated show. Visitors have the opportunity to view the works in a calm atmosphere and engage in conversation with the artists present. The exhibition remains open throughout the day.
At 3 PM, the children's concert with the duo Böttcher and Schepilo begins. The program is aimed at families with children and combines musical storytelling with interactive elements. The child-friendly program design makes the day a family offering that appeals to all generations.
The grand finale at 7 PM is the open-air concert by the Happy Strings Ensemble. The program features works by Antonio Vivaldi, performed under the open sky in the garden of the Heimathaus. The combination of Baroque music and a summer open-air ambiance gives the concert a special character and attracts a classically interested audience from Jesteburg and the surrounding area.
By linking an exhibition, a children's concert, and classical music, the Day of Art and Music presents a compact cultural format that fills a niche in the region. The municipality of Jesteburg gains a cultural event that brings citizens to the town center on a Sunday in late spring.
The 2026 edition continues the proven concept, bundling an art exhibition, a children's concert, and a classical open-air concert into one Sunday. The programming allows visitors to experience individual strands or spend the entire day at the Heimathaus.
The focus in 2026 is on Antonio Vivaldi, whose works the Happy Strings Ensemble will perform under the open sky. The open-air performance in the garden area of the Heimathaus offers an atmosphere distinct from classical concert hall performances.
