26th edition of the year-round chamber music festival with a focus on Brandenburg an der Havel
The Havellandic Music Festival was founded around the turn of the millennium and has since been the defining classical music festival of the Havelland. Unlike many festivals, it does not run in a concentrated summer block, but as a year-round program from March to December with over 20 concerts per season at changing historical venues between Nauen, Kloster Lehnin, Bad Belzig, and Brandenburg an der Havel. The organizer is Havelländische Musikfestspiele gGmbH, a non-profit organization.
The 26th edition in 2026 starts on March 8th at Schloss Reckahn — with Beethoven violin sonatas performed by Edita Randová and Augustin Kužela, 4 PM. This continues the usual season opening at Schloss Reckahn, which is one of the festival's established hallmarks.
While Schloss Ribbeck (Nauen) is the headquarters and namesake venue, Brandenburg an der Havel and its surroundings are firm pillars of the program — spread throughout the season:
The Music Festival combines several profiles:
The opening concert in 2026 will be performed by two Czech soloists. Violinist Edita Randová and pianist Augustin Kužela bring the Beethoven violin sonatas to the Schlosskonzert tradition of Schloss Reckahn — one of the most important neoclassical palace complexes in the region. Tickets from €20.
Schloss Reckahn is located in the Reckahn district of the municipality of Kloster Lehnin (Potsdam-Mittelmark district), about 15 km southwest of Brandenburg an der Havel. The neoclassical complex from the 18th century also serves as a venue and cultural center as the Reckahn Experience Museum. The acoustically high-quality halls have been part of the Music Festival's repertoire for years.
The 26th Havellandic Music Festival 2026 runs from March 8th to December 20th, 2026, as a year-round chamber music festival. Brandenburg an der Havel and its surroundings are firm pillars of the program: Schloss Reckahn in the Reckahn district of the municipality of Kloster Lehnin (14776) and Klein Kreutz (part of Brandenburg an der Havel) are among the recurring venues.
The season opens on March 8th, 2026, at 4 PM at Schloss Reckahn with Beethoven violin sonatas, performed by Edita Randová (violin) and Augustin Kužela (piano). Further highlights include: Beethoven violin sonata evening on June 6th; the "Berliner Luft" open-air gala on June 13th with a salon orchestra in the Ribbeck Palace Park; the Horn Quartet Picnic Concert on June 21st in the Nennhausen Palace Park.
Over the season, more than 20 concerts are spread across classical music, chamber music, jazz, and swing — complemented by children's concerts. Tickets from €20, sales via Reservix.
