Regional Specialties and Monastery Products near Goslar
For centuries, Wöltingerode was a Cistercian nunnery and today it is a hotel, distillery, and event venue. The monastery ensemble north of Goslar offers a quiet, established backdrop particularly suitable for events focused on craftsmanship, enjoyment, and tradition. The Harzer Genuss-Tage leverage this substance, gathering regional providers in the halls and outbuildings of the monastery.
The focus is on artisans and manufactories from the Harz region and its foothills. Cheese dairies, beekeepers, bakeries, small breweries, distilleries, sausage and preserve manufactories, confectioneries, and producers of jams, syrups, liqueurs, and pralines present their products. Tastings are available at the stands, and many providers offer small demonstrations explaining their production processes.
The Wöltingerode monastery distillery uses the Genuss-Tage to showcase its liqueurs and brandies. Tasting flights and tours of the distillery complement the market offerings. The monastery kitchen serves warm daily specials and classics of North and Central German cuisine in its restaurant rooms.
The Harzer Genuss-Tage 2026 will take place on a Saturday in November and is designed as a one-day event. This allows for a compact excursion that can be combined with a visit to Goslar, the Rammelsberg Mine, or the Klosterhotel itself.
The Genuss-Tage 2026 continue the annual tradition, bringing together small manufactories from the Harz region and its surroundings in one place. Unlike large food fairs, the emphasis is on a personal atmosphere, direct tasting, and conversations with the producers.
The monastery distillery traditionally uses the Genuss-Tage to introduce new editions and offer tasting flights that explore the house's various liqueur and brandy lines. In parallel, the monastery kitchen serves warm dishes with a regional connection.
The detailed program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the autumn. The structure will follow the proven cornerstones of previous years:
