Prümer Pferdemarkt (Spring)

The Prümer Pferdemarkt (Spring) is one of the most traditional equestrian and market events in the Eifel region. It is organized by the Reitverein Prümer Land e.V., which has held the market twice a year since 1990, traditionally on the first Saturday of April and the first Saturday of October. The event takes place at the multi-purpose hall and exhibition grounds in Prüm.

2026 Edition Cancelled

The spring edition scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2026, did not take place: the Reitverein Prümer Land e.V. cancelled it due to declining membership numbers. The autumn 2026 edition has also been cancelled for the same reason.

Horses of All Breeds

In regular years, the focus is on around 200 horses presented and traded at the market. All breeds are represented—from riding horses and draft horses to ponies, ranging from the Spanish Andalusian tradition to German warmbloods and cold-blooded breeds.

Equestrian Program and Complementary Markets

In regular years, an equestrian program runs from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, featuring demonstrations, dressage, and show jumping, accompanied by a second-hand market for equestrian clothing and tack, as well as a small animal and poultry market.
