The Harbor Becomes a Stage
Wyk auf Föhr is the only town on the North Frisian island of Föhr (Nordfriesland district, Schleswig-Holstein state). With around 4,500 inhabitants, Wyk is the island's economic and tourist center — and Wyk's inner harbor, with its shrimp cutters, excursion boats, and the WDR ferry ticket office, is the heart of the townscape. The Hafenfestival turns this backdrop into a four-day summer event.

The East Quay of the inner harbor becomes the festival area:

Föhr in Summer
Föhr — the third of the major North Frisian islands alongside Sylt and Amrum — is in high season in summer for families, water sports enthusiasts, and pleasure travelers. The Hafenfestival fits seamlessly into Föhr's event calendar: between the Föhrer Stadtfest, SHMF concerts, and Inselwoche, it offers a distinctly maritime profile. In the background, you always feel the proximity to the Wadden Sea (UNESCO World Heritage) and the typical island serenity.

The organizer is Föhr Tourismus GmbH, responsible for the island's tourism marketing. The Hafenfestival is one of its flagship events — deliberately accessible, family-friendly, and focused on experiencing the maritime atmosphere.

Four Days of Summer at the Inner Harbor
From August 6 to 9, 2026, the East Quay of Wyk's inner harbor will transform into the festival grounds of the Hafenfestival. The stalls of the food and strolling mile will be lined up along the quay, and the stages will be distributed across several locations.
On Thursday afternoon, the first stalls open at 4:00 PM, Friday and Saturday are the big festival evenings with main stage programming. Sunday concludes the festival with a family-friendly evening program — all days end at 11:00 PM.

Getting There
By ferry of WDR Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei from Dagebüll to Wyk auf Föhr (approx. 45 minutes). Travel to Dagebüll by car via the B5 or by train (Dagebüll Mole). Wyk's inner harbor is located directly at the ferry terminal.

Free admission. Food, drinks, and arts and crafts on site are subject to charge.
