Spring market with around 70 exhibitors and Easter Bunny program
The Greifswald Easter and Flower Market opens the spring market season every year at the beginning of April on the Historic Market Square. From 10 am to 5 pm, around 70 exhibitors present flowers, plants, and handicrafts — many from Greifswald and the surrounding Vorpommern region.
The focus is on spring blooms such as tulips, daffodils, crocuses, and hyacinths, as well as fresh cut flowers and floral arrangements. Additionally, craftspeople offer ceramics, wood, wicker, and straw goods, jewellery, and Easter decorations.
Families with children can expect a special program: the Easter Bunny distributes sweets, a bouncy castle and a climbing wall provide opportunities for activity. A varied stage program runs throughout the day on a small stage.
The gastronomy embraces the spring theme: dishes with fresh herbs, soups, grilled items, and regional classics — fitting for a market in the open air and usually mild April weather on the Baltic coast.
Greifswald is part of the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The red brick Gothic architecture of the Historic Market Square provides a photogenic backdrop for the spring market, which takes place a few weeks before the garden market in early May.
The 2026 spring edition of the Greifswald Easter and Flower Market will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10 AM to 5 PM on the Historic Market Square.
Around 70 exhibitors will present tulips, daffodils, crocuses, hyacinths, as well as cut flowers and arrangements. Additionally, ceramics, wood, wicker, and straw goods, as well as jewellery will be available for purchase. For families, there is a children's program with the Easter Bunny, a bouncy castle, and a climbing wall. Gastronomy with fresh herbs, soups, and grilled items completes the market.
Free admission. Purchases according to the price lists of individual stalls — cash recommended.
Around a 10-minute walk from Greifswald Central Station to the Market Square. By car, take the A20 motorway, exit Greifswald, then follow signs to the city centre.
Entry to the market is free. The bouncy castle and climbing wall for children can also be used free of charge.
Visit in the morning for the widest selection of plants, around 1 pm for the Easter Bunny's visit. Cash is recommended — many stalls only accept cash.
