25 Years of Greenfields Open Air
Greenfields Open Air has been an integral part of the Munich festival scene since 2002 and is one of the most important summer dates for House and Techno in Southern Germany. The 2026 edition is the 25th anniversary edition: on August 1, 2026, the Munich-Riem Racecourse (Graf-Lehndorff-Str. 36) will transform into an open-air festival site of 19,000 m² – approximately 2,000 m² more than in 2025.
Line-up between Detroit, Berlin, and Frankfurt
The program combines international headliners and the Munich resident scene. Over eleven hours, the following artists will perform on two stages: Peggy Gou, Richie Hawtin (Plastikman, Detroit / Berlin), Sven Väth (Frankfurt / Cocoon), &ME (Keinemusik – second time at Greenfields), Ben Klock (Berghain Resident), Pan-Pot, Desiree, Marie Montexier, and Meera. The mix covers classic Detroit Techno, Berlin Tunnel Techno, German Trance/Acid, and current House-Pop.
Infrastructure and VIP Options
The festival grounds will offer expanded infrastructure in 2026: more than 20 food stalls, 30 bars, several water stations, and improved sanitary facilities. VIP packages range from grandstand seats to backstage access and special stage access experiences – unusual for a Munich open-air event of this scale.
Munich-Riem and Electronic Music
The Munich-Riem Racecourse is one of the few large open-air areas in eastern Munich, located near the Trudering-Riem district. Its connection to the U-Bahn (U2 Messestadt Ost / Trudering, S-Bahn Riem) makes it a logistically uncomplicated festival location. Greenfields is one of the longest-running events in the Munich electronic music scene – the 25th year marks its institutional importance for the city.
