About the Festival
The Grabow Town Festival is the big summer festival of the Mecklenburg half-timbered town on the Elde river. The festival is organised by the town of Grabow together with the Grabow administrative district. The market square, pedestrian zone and harbour promenade are transformed into a festival mile for two days with several stages, food stalls, carousels and activity areas.
What to Expect
It kicks off on Friday evening with the Young Generation Party on the market square, followed by "Future City" — a big aftershow party with DJs and a light show. Saturday starts more relaxed: from 10 a.m. a flea market by the harbour, cake stalls and a children's programme. From midday, things get maritime with the dragon boat race on the Elde — teams from the region compete against each other, with spectators lining the banks. In the evening, the band Prignitzfabrik gets the market square dancing, preceded by the Banzkower Blasmusik accompanying the afternoon.
Local Context
Grabow is located in the south of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district and is famous for its almost completely preserved half-timbered old town with over 160 historic houses. The Elde, navigable here as the "Müritz-Elde-Waterway", flows through the town directly by the old harbour — a perfect backdrop for a town and harbour festival.

In 2026, the town of Grabow once again invites you to its two-day summer town festival on the historic market square and the old Elde harbour. With free admission, the half-timbered old town transforms into a festival mile filled with music, flea market finds, and maritime activities.
Friday is dedicated to the younger generation, while Saturday combines family entertainment, harbour flair, and live music. The highlight is the dragon boat race on the Elde — a tradition that brings teams from all over Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg to the starting line every year.

Getting There
By train to Grabow (Mecklenburg) — Hamburg — Schwerin — Berlin line. By car via the A24 (Grabow exit). Parking in the town centre is restricted during the festival; parking spaces around the train station are signposted.
