Geißbock-Weinfestla Neustadt a.d.Aisch

A Tradition Since the 1970s

For almost 50 years, the Geißbock-Weinfestla has been a firm fixture in Neustadt an der Aisch's event calendar. The Fastnachtsgesellschaft Geißbock e.V. — one of the oldest and most active carnival societies in Middle Franconia — not only organizes the festival as a summer event but also as a symbol of the club's identity beyond the carnival season. What is celebrated in February with dance troupes and witty speeches continues outdoors in July with wine culture.

Peter-Kolb-Platz as the Festival Setting

The central Peter-Kolb-Platz in the historic old town of Neustadt a.d.Aisch provides the ideal stage: cobblestoned, surrounded by half-timbered houses and sandstone buildings, and in close proximity to the parish church. The Geißbock club members set up umbrellas, standing tables, beer benches, and a wine bar — creating a cozy open-air wine tavern with a Franconian atmosphere and a Mediterranean lifestyle.

Franconian Wine Selection

The Weinfestla is a genuine Franconian wine event. The menu includes:

• Franconian White Wines — Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Riesling, Scheurebe from the wine-growing regions around Iphofen, Volkach, and Sommerach
• Franconian Red Wines — Pinot Noir, Domina, Dornfelder
• Secco — Franconian sparkling wine for a festive mood
• Franconian Lillet — a sophisticated aperitif with a local touch

Hearty Wine Delicacies

Accompanying the wine are hearty snacks and wine delicacies that pair perfectly: Franconian sausage specialties, cheese from regional producers, bread from the local bakery, salads, and small hot dishes. A relaxed combination that makes spending many hours on the square enjoyable.

Heimatfest Weekend

The Geißbock-Weinfestla runs parallel to the town's Heimatfest (local festival) weekend — the annual Heimatfest is the most important event in the town's calendar. This creates a dual festival backdrop: a folk festival at one end of town and a sophisticated wine event at the other. Visitors move between both, and both events benefit from each other.

The Festla typically runs from Friday to Sunday (in 2025: Fri 6 PM–12 AM, Sat 11 AM–12 AM, Sun 11 AM–5 PM). The exact times for late July 2026 are still being confirmed — following the established procedure.
