One of Europe's largest open-air gourmet festivals on Königsallee
From 21 to 23 August 2026, it's that time again: Over 2 kilometers of Königsallee will transform into one of Europe's most spectacular open-air gourmet festivals. Over 200 exhibitors — star chefs, street food pioneers, vintners, champagne houses, spirit manufacturers, and pastry chefs — will form a promenade of good taste between Corneliusplatz and Graf-Adolf-Platz.
The Gourmet Festival Düsseldorf is positioned as significantly larger and more international than its smaller Cologne sister format at the Chocolate Museum. Here, the elite of international gastronomy presents itself:
Opening in the afternoon. Friday is considered a sophisticated after-work day — many Düsseldorf professionals use their evening off for a first taste; the audience is typically more elegant and pleasure-oriented.
Main operating day. A full 11 hours of festival, often with waiting times at the most popular stands. Families are welcome in the morning and early afternoon; in the evening, the party crowd takes over the Kö promenade.
Brunch opening and winding down. Slightly shorter opening hours, often a relaxed vibe with live music in the background. The ideal day for an initial exploration.
The Königsallee — or "the Kö" for short — is one of Europe's most famous shopping streets, 800 meters long. On both sides of a historic moat (the former city moat) are wide promenades, lined with luxury shops, hotels, office buildings, and cafés. The Gourmet Festival utilizes the promenade on both sides and integrates the adjacent squares — Corneliusplatz to the north, Graf-Adolf-Platz to the south. A backdrop that combines Düsseldorf's self-image as the "desk of the Ruhr area" and fashion capital with the festival flair.
Wellfairs GmbH, based in Korschenbroich, has been organizing the Gourmet Festival Düsseldorf for years — in addition to the significantly smaller counterpart at the Cologne Chocolate Museum (90 exhibitors, 45,000 visitors), the Krefeld Gourmet Festival, and several theme-specific street food formats. The entire Königsallee transforms into an indulgence mile for three days. White pagoda tents, food trucks, and bars stretch from Corneliusplatz to Graf-Adolf-Platz. International cuisine, premium beverages, and delicacies of the highest caliber. One of Europe's largest open-air gourmet festivals.
