This clearly sets the festival apart from the major Hessian open-airs. The organizers speak of a "hand-picked lineup of the heart" and a deliberately limited capacity.

Location and Atmosphere

The venue is the Steinbrücker Teich in Darmstadt's city forest, southeast of the city center, near Eberstadt. The pond originated as a historic fish pond, and the surrounding forest area is part of the Bergstraße-Odenwald Nature Park. The stage is located among old beech trees by the water; the festival area is manageable and intimate – more of a late-summer picnic with concerts than a mega-festival.

Musical Concept

The lineup annually features a characteristic mix of established indie acts and newcomers worth discovering. Stylistically, the spectrum ranges from Indie-Pop, Dream-Pop, and Shoegaze to Alt-Rock and electronic music. International headliners like Agnes Obel, Pale Waves, or Poliça stand alongside German-speaking artists like Mine or Kat Frankie.

Organizer Bedroomdisco e.V.

Behind the festival is Bedroomdisco e.V., a Darmstadt-based association that has been shaping the city's indie scene for years. The science city of Darmstadt has already extended the contract with the association for the upcoming festival editions – a clear commitment from the city to the format. The festival is presented by Deutschlandfunk Nova, with support from Merck and ENTEGA, and the City of Darmstadt.

Motto 2026: "A Leaf Becoming A Movement"

The organizers describe the 2026 lineup as a "musical melting pot" that reflects the diversity and artistic quality of the contemporary indie and alternative scene. Despite growing recognition, they are holding onto the original DIY spirit.
