Advent Market in the Werntal Valley

The GlühWeihnacht Thüngen is one of the fixed dates of the Advent season in the market town of Thüngen, located in the Werntal valley in the Main-Spessart district of Lower Franconia. On the Sunday before Christmas Eve, the Planplatz becomes the center of a Christmas market event that lasts from the early evening hours into the night.

Mulled Wine and Christmas Atmosphere

From approximately 3 PM to 11 PM, stalls offering mulled wine, Christmas treats, and handicrafts invite visitors to linger. The sparkle of lights, the scent of mulled wine and roasted almonds, and the pre-Christmas atmosphere make the market a convivial meeting point shortly before the festival.

Concert in St. Georg

A special highlight is the concert at 6 PM in the St.-Georgs-Kirche (St. George's Church). It combines the secular market activities with contemplative music and underscores the festive character of the GlühWeihnacht.
