The Gaufest is the central festival of the Bavarian Inngau Traditional Costume Association, which brings together numerous traditional costume clubs from the region. Each year, a different member club hosts the Gaufest. In 2026, this task falls to the GTEV "Alpenrose" Nußdorf e.V. in Nußdorf am Inn, which is organizing the festival with a diverse program of music, folk dance, 'Plattler', and customs. 130 Years of Alpenrose Nußdorf
For the GTEV "Alpenrose" Nußdorf, the 2026 Gaufest is a double occasion: the club is celebrating its 130th anniversary in the same year. Founded in 1896, "Alpenrose" is one of the traditional costume clubs with a long history in the Inngau region. The anniversary lends the festival additional significance and shapes the festival program.
Course of the Festival
The Gaufest spans ten days. It opens on the first evening with the beer tapping, accompanied musically by the Nußdorf brass band. This is followed by a 'Heimatabend' (homeland evening) and the grand festival Sunday – the actual highlight with a church procession in the morning and a large parade in historical costume in the afternoon. The subsequent festival week offers further evenings with brass band music, folk dances, and 'Plattler', concluding with traditional round dances and craft markets.
Festival Meadow and Festival Tent
The venue is the festival meadow in Nußdorf am Inn, featuring a large festival tent. This is where the evening events, concerts, and the social part of the festival take place. The parades wind through the village, offering an impressive display of the Inngau region's diversity of traditional costumes.

Nußdorf am Inn is picturesquely situated at the foot of the Heuberg mountain in the district of Rosenheim, nestled between the Inntal Valley and the foothills of the Alps.
