About Starkbierfest Raubling

The Raublinger Starkbierfest is one of the traditional Starkbier festivals in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim. For three weekends in March, the festival tent at Gymnasium Raubling transforms into a convivial meeting place with brass music, hearty delicacies from the Kirner family, and the smooth Starkbier from the Flötzinger brewery. The festival traditionally opens with the beer tapping ceremony by the mayor. With Kesselfleisch-Montag (pork belly Monday), Josefitag (St. Joseph's Day), and a convivial atmosphere, the Starkbierfest is a fixed date in the spring calendar of the Chiemsee-Alpenland region.

Upper Bavarian Starkbier Tradition

The Raublinger Starkbierfest is a fixture in the Upper Bavarian Starkbier season, those weeks around St. Joseph's Day (Josefitag) when the nutritious "fasting" Starkbier is served. The venue is the large festival tent at Gymnasium Raubling in the district of Rosenheim. The festival is organized by Kirner Zelte in cooperation with the Flötzinger Brewery from Rosenheim.

Three Weekends of Festival Tent Atmosphere

Over three weekends, the Starkbierfest offers traditional brass music, exuberant atmosphere, and hearty delicacies from the Kirner family's kitchen. The Josefi-Bock and the Festmärzen from the Flötzinger brewery are served. Special program highlights include the traditional Kesselfleisch-Montag and Josefitag.

Beer Tapping and Customs

The ceremonial opening is marked by the beer tapping ceremony by the mayor of Raubling, accompanied by a brass band. The Starkbierfest combines Bavarian customs with conviviality and is a social highlight of spring for many people from Raubling and the surrounding area.

The municipality of Raubling is located in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim, nestled in the pre-Alpine landscape of the Chiemsee-Alpenland. The region is known for its vibrant inn culture and brewing tradition – the Starkbierfest is an authentic expression of this way of life.
