While Rosenheim celebrates its Herbstfest (Autumn Festival) at the end of August/beginning of September on the Loretowiese in the city center, there has been a second, smaller, and more family-friendly counterpart for decades: the "Oids Panger Volksfest" — the "old Panger Volksfest" — in the Pang district on the western outskirts. It takes place in spring and is also advertised as the Rosenheimer Frühjahrsfest.

What awaits you

Ten festival days from the end of April to the beginning of May with the classic Upper Bavarian Volksfest program:

• Festival tent of Festzeltbetriebe Werner with Flötzinger-Bräu beer service
• Daily live bands for atmosphere and dancing (program changes daily)
• Amusement rides: dodgem cars, Ferris wheel, chain carousel, wave flyer
• Shooting galleries, candy stalls, classic "Wurzelsepp" stalls
• Bavarian delicacies: roast chicken, bratwurst, grilled fish on a stick, gingerbread hearts

Family Volksfest with charm

In contrast to the "big Wiesn" (Herbstfest on the Loretowiese), the Panger Frühjahrsfest is much more manageable — it's the right place for those who prefer something more family-oriented, child-friendly, and less touristy. Regular visitors appreciate the quiet, almost village-like Volksfest atmosphere in the Pang district at the Wasen. On weekends, family rates and special days are common.

Around the festival: Rosenheim

Rosenheim, with approx. 65,000 inhabitants, is the largest city between Munich and Salzburg. The Volksfest has its permanent place in the Pang district on the western edge of the city. Rosenheim offers several Volksfeste throughout the year — from the Frühjahrsfest in Pang and the big Herbstfest on the Loretowiese to the Christkindlmarkt (Christmas market) on Max-Josefs-Platz.
