Double Festival in Ingersheim

Ingersheim is a twin municipality in the Ludwigsburg district of Baden-Württemberg, consisting of the districts Großingersheim and Kleiningersheim on the right bank of the Neckar river, between Bietigheim-Bissingen and Vaihingen an der Enz. With around 6,000 inhabitants, Ingersheim is small but has strong community ties — and once a year, a festival weekend takes place that spans both districts simultaneously.

FVI Summer Festival at Fischerwörth Sports Grounds

FV Ingersheim e.V. (FVI) is the local football club. Its three-day summer festival at the Fischerwörth sports grounds is the most important club festival of the year. The focus: a packed tournament schedule. On Friday and Saturday, youth tournaments take place — junior teams from the Ludwigsburg and Heilbronn districts compete against each other. On Saturday and Sunday, the "Amateur 11-Meter Tournament": hobby teams compete in a penalty shootout competition where fun takes precedence over sporting professionalism.

Kleiningersheim Village Festival at Schönblick Festival Grounds

In parallel, the Kleiningersheim district celebrates its own village festival. The festival grounds at the Schönblick clubhouse will be active from Saturday to Sunday. On Saturday at 6:00 PM, the traditional barrel tapping ceremony opens the festival, followed by live music, catering by local clubs, and an evening program. On Sunday at 10:00 AM, a festival service is held, followed by lunch, an afternoon program, and festivities until Sunday evening.

Club Stalls and Swabian Cuisine

Both festival grounds are catered by local clubs. Swabian cuisine dominates: Maultaschen, Schupfnudeln, Käsknöpfle, Zwiebelrostbraten, Bratwurst, fries, Spundekäs, and cakes from the Landfrauen bakers. Württemberg wines, draft beer, and a cocktail bar complete the offerings.

Community Weekend

The festival weekend is more than just the sum of its two festival grounds — it is a community ritual for the twin municipality of Ingersheim. Residents commute between Fischerwörth and Schönblick, club members help each other, and on Sunday afternoon, families from both districts meet to experience the festival's conclusion together. A micro-Volksfest that keeps the identity of a small twin community alive.

FVI-Sommerfest Ingersheim — edition 2026

From Friday, July 3rd to Sunday, July 5th, 2026, Ingersheim will host a double festival weekend. FVI Summer Festival on the Fischerwörth sports grounds with youth tournaments and an amateur 11-meter penalty shootout tournament, alongside the Kleiningersheim Village Festival at the Schönblick festival grounds (barrel tapping Saturday 6 PM, festival service Sunday 10 AM). Both festival grounds feature club catering, live music, and children's programs. Free admission.

Three Days of Double Festivities

FV Ingersheim e.V. is hosting its three-day summer festival at the Fischerwörth sports grounds. The tournaments form the backbone of the program: youth tournaments on Friday and Saturday, and the amateur 11-meter penalty shootout tournament for hobby teams over the weekend. Festival tent catering, live music, and a family program complement the sporting events.

In parallel, the Kleiningersheim district opens its own village festival on Saturday and Sunday at the Schönblick festival grounds. Saturday 6:00 PM barrel tapping, Sunday 10:00 AM festival service — the classic village festival choreography. The two festival grounds complement each other, many residents commute between them, and families find activities on both sites.
