Spring Start in Middle Franconia

The Frühlingsfest with Walburgimarkt is one of the most important city festivals in Neustadt an der Aisch in the Middle Franconian district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim. It traditionally takes place on the first May weekend and turns the city center into an open stage for three days.

Walburgimarkt and Car Mile

The Walburgimarkt in Bahnhofstraße is the heart and namesake. Traders set up their stalls with plants, seasonal items, handicrafts, and specialties. In parallel, the Automeile (car mile) in Wilhelmstraße presents current models from regional car dealers – supplemented by stands from the Technisches Hilfswerk (THW) and other local organizations.

Concerts and Children's Program

On Marktplatz, the Stadtkapelle Frankenland (Frankenland City Band) performs a live open-air concert with free admission. If the weather is good, a promenade concert by the Musikverein Diespeck (Diespeck Music Association) follows. On Saturday evening, DJs create a lively atmosphere in the city center. For families, the Kinderprogramm (children's program) in Ludwigstraße opens – organized by the handball club HC Neustadt and local support organizations.

Sunday Shopping

On Sunday, Neustadt's shops invite you to a verkaufsoffener Tag (open shopping day). The city center is traffic-calmed, cafés and restaurants open their outdoor terraces, and the Walburgimarkt is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Neustadt an der Aisch

Neustadt a.d. Aisch is the district town of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim in the Middle Franconian administrative region. The town is located in the Aischgrund, a traditional carp and wine-growing region, and combines a historic old town with a modern economic region.
