A Traditional City Fair

The Neustädter Kirchweih is one of the most important folk festivals in the Middle Franconian district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim. For nine days, the city transforms into a festival venue, celebrating the Franconian Kerwa tradition in all its diversity.

Festival Tent and Beer Tapping

The Kirchweih traditionally opens with the beer tapping ceremony on the festival grounds. In the festival tent and under old trees, visitors gather for Kirchweih beer, Franconian specialties, and brass music. The unique location of the festival site gives the Kärwa its distinctive atmosphere.

Rich Program

The program is varied: a market square concert with Franconian folk dances, a marksmen's parade, a children's festival, an official breakfast, boxing events, and a hunters' breakfast are among the highlights. An amusement park with rides complements the offerings for the whole family.

Rooted in the Aischgrund

The surrounding districts also celebrate their own Kirchweihen in 2026 – a sign of the region's strong Kerwa tradition. The city fair in June is the central event and a unifying meeting point for the entire city community.

Significance in Middle Franconia

As a nine-day city fair, the Neustädter Kärwa exemplifies the vibrant Franconian festival culture in the Free State of Bavaria and is a fixed date in the event calendar of the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district.
