The Old Town Becomes a Stage
Frei Bordsteinkante brings art and culture into the public spaces of Erlangen's old town for one day. Streets, squares, cafés, and galleries become venues for a dense, diverse program. The festival serves as a platform for the regional art and culture scene.

In 2026, the fifth edition will run in a slightly smaller format due to budget reasons. Instead of an open call for artists, the 2026 program will be curated and adapted to the available space — however, the programmatic diversity will be maintained.
