Four stages on Gigelberg — Hip-Hop, Rap, House, Electro plus workshops in painting, yoga and make-up
When the Gigelberg in Biberach an der Riß comes alive on the second September weekend with four stages, workshop tents, and street food trucks, the FreeFlow Festival is back. From September 11th to 12th, 2026, the festival, in its 7th edition, presents itself with a clear mission: "Dance, celebrate, live, dream. Free and creative." — that's the festival slogan. Behind the festival are over 100 young volunteers from the region — students, young professionals, creatives — who run the festival with the aim of "revitalizing the cultural scene in Biberach.".
The musical spectrum ranges from Hip-Hop and Rap to House and electronic dance music. Four stages are spread across the Gigelberg grounds — each with its own genre focus:
The 2026 lineup brings together emerging acts from the German Hip-Hop and Electro scene:
Additional acts will be announced closer to the festival. The program deliberately remains flexible — reflecting the "free flow" festival philosophy.
FreeFlow consciously sets itself apart from being just a concert festival. Alongside the stages, there are workshops for:
This makes the festival explicitly participatory and creative — you don't just experience music, you actively become part of a creative weekend.
The city of Biberach an der Riß, with around 33,000 inhabitants, is located in the Biberach district in Baden-Württemberg, in Oberschwaben between Lake Constance and the Danube. It is an old Free Imperial City with a well-preserved historic town center. The Gigelberg is a hill on the edge of the city with a view over the Riß valley and the Swabian Jura — a perfect open-air backdrop for a festival. The atmosphere in Biberach is a mix of Oberschwaben's down-to-earth charm and a younger creative scene around the Biberach University of Applied Sciences (Civil Engineering, Energy and Environmental Technology).
The FreeFlow Festival 2026 celebrates its 7th edition, continuing the proven concept of a creative-musical weekend festival. On Gigelberg, four stages are spread across the festival grounds — Hip-Hop/Rap, House, Electro/Techno, and Indie. The young volunteer organizers build the stages and workshop tents themselves — this gives the festival its DIY charm.
The 2026 lineup features emerging acts from the German Hip-Hop and Electro scene. makko, Kasi, and Yung Pepp represent the German rap scene, Juli and Rikas stand for Pop and Indie, Boogie Twins and Teuterekordz for House and DJ sets. The workshop offerings — painting, make-up, yoga, crafts — complete the experience and make FreeFlow a festival for creatives.
