Illuminated Old Town and Spa Park in Autumn
The Lichternacht is a staging format: Historic buildings, park paths, and town squares are highlighted with illuminations, candles, and targeted light installations. For one evening, Bad Sülze gains its own nocturnal atmosphere, significantly altering the usual cityscape of the salt town.
Guided light walks explore the most important illuminated stations in the old town and the spa park. Musical contributions or readings accompany the walks at various points. Culinary offerings — mulled wine, warm food, cakes — provide breaks along the route.
Bad Sülze is a historic brine spa town in the Vorpommern-Rügen district. The Lichternacht complements the town's annual program — from the Dahlia Show in September, through the Lichternacht in October, to the Baked Apple Festival at the end of November. Together, these events mark the transition from autumn to winter and contribute to the small town's cultural profile as a salt museum and spa resort.
The Lichternacht Bad Sülze 2026 continues the format successfully established in previous years. Likely on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from late afternoon, the historic buildings of the salt town, the paths of the spa park, and selected town squares will be showcased with light installations, candles, and targeted lighting. Guided light walks will explore the key stations; musical contributions and readings will accompany the tour. Culinary stations offering mulled wine, warm food, and cakes will provide gastronomic support. The exact date and detailed program will be announced by the Mecklenburg Salt Museum and the town of Bad Sülze.
Detailed program routes and special events will be published on-site and on the online channels of the town of Bad Sülze.
The light walks are generally freely accessible. Individual guided tours or special events may be subject to a charge; food and drink available for purchase on-site.
By train to Bad Sülze, then a few minutes' walk to the old town and the spa park. By car via the B194 or B105. Sturdy footwear and warm clothing recommended.
