Over 100 dahlia varieties in the garden of the Salt Museum
The Dahlia Show was launched in 1980 and is now one of the most traditional flower shows in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The focus is on a presentation of around one hundred dahlia varieties in the garden of the Mecklenburg Salt Museum and in the surrounding spa park. The show is accompanied by arts and crafts, concerts, street food, and a family program.
Artists, music groups, circus performers, and market vendors gather on the grounds. During the day, concerts, children's activities, the crowning of the Dahlia Queen, stilt walkers, and culinary stands alternate; in the evening, a Schlager and dance party takes over the stage, followed by the traditional Sunday brunch with the reigning and former Dahlia Queen.
Bad Sülze is a historic brine spa in the Vorpommern-Rügen district. With the Dahlia Show, the town has been cultivating its own tradition since the 1980s, establishing the Salt Museum as the central venue for the small town. 2025 marked a milestone with the 45th anniversary; the show has established itself in the wider region as a must-attend event for garden lovers.
The Dahlienschau Bad Sülze 2026 continues the format maintained since 1980. On the second weekend in September (likely September 12-13, 2026), the garden of the Mecklenburg Salt Museum and the spa park of Bad Sülze will be transformed into a sea of dahlia blossoms. Over a hundred varieties in countless colors will be presented; the accompanying program includes concerts, arts and crafts stalls, stilt walkers, circus acts, children's activities, and culinary offerings. In the evening, the traditional Schlager party takes over the stage. On Sunday, brunch with the reigning and former Dahlia Queen will take place. The exact date and the full program will be announced on the website of the Mecklenburg Salt Museum.
The special exhibition on the history of the event is accessible in the Salt Museum during the Dahlia Show.
