North German indie-rock stars with their current album "Hollywood" live at Lokpark
Madsen was founded in 2004 in Clenze, Lüneburger Heide, and is one of the most influential bands in the German-language indie-rock scene of the 2000s and 2010s. The three brothers Sebastian (vocals/guitar), Sascha (bass), and Johannes (drums) Madsen — along with band member Niko Maurer (guitar) — have developed a unique sound over seven studio albums: powerful guitars, catchy melodies, German lyrics with political and personal depth.
With the album "Hollywood," the band marks a new direction in their discography. The work combines the band's proven trademarks — unforgettable choruses, resonant lyrics — with a slight expansion of their sound spectrum. The live concert will feature new songs alongside classics from their repertoire — tracks like "Du schreibst Geschichte," "Wenn nichts mehr geht," and "Lass die Musik an" are staples of their live set.
Lokpark Braunschweig, with its industrial backdrop from the former locomotive repair shop, provides the ideal stage for a Madsen concert. The brick halls, the spacious courtyard, and the open atmosphere complement the band's energetic sound. In the summer of 2026, Madsen will close the Lokpark Open Airs — following Sportfreunde Stiller (May 29), Royal Republic (May 30), and Nena (June 4), the Lokpark stage will host this powerhouse of North German indie rock.
Madsen regularly performs at major German festivals — Hurricane, Highfield, Rock am Ring. They know how to connect with and captivate an open-air audience. For the Lokpark audience, the concert promises an intense encounter with one of the most important German-language indie-rock bands of the last two decades.
The 2026 concert continues the tradition of major Lokpark open-air events, concluding the concert series with one of the most important German-language indie-rock bands.
