Trappenkamp Celebrates its 70th Anniversary

Trappenkamp is one of the youngest municipalities in Schleswig-Holstein. Only in 1956 was the former heath settlement founded as an independent municipality in the Segeberg district — a settlement for displaced persons grew from the Wehrmacht barracks in the post-war period. Today, around 4,700 people live in Trappenkamp, which is closely connected to neighboring Bornhöved and Rickling.

In 2026, the municipality will celebrate its 70th anniversary, and the traditional Trappenkamp Street Festival with Funfair will be expanded accordingly. From June 5th to 8th, 2026, the town center will become a festival mile — the market square, the Schiffweide, and the adjacent streets will be closed to traffic and will belong to the festival operations for four days.

Four Days of Funfair

The funfair with classic rides, food stalls, market booths, and a promenade will be open from Friday to Sunday. The regional showmen's association ensures a colorful program of carousels for families, dodgem cars, stalls, and candy stands.

Saturday Highlight

The actual celebration day is Saturday, June 6th, 2026, starting at 2:00 PM. The band Hitluencer will play on the market square, accompanied by DJ Kleini — until 1:00 AM. At 11:00 PM, the grand fireworks display will be the highlight of the 70th anniversary. Free admission.

Trappenkamp in the Segeberg District

Trappenkamp is located in the southeastern part of the Segeberg district, nestled between Bornhöved and the Aukrug Nature Park. The municipality sees itself as a family-friendly residential community and has developed its own character over the years with the street festival and several smaller events such as the Freiraum Open Air.
