13th edition Heavy-Psych-Stoner-Blues Festival in Siegerland — "no Fillers, just Killers"
The Freak Valley Festival is arguably the most important address for Heavy Psych, Stoner, and Doom Rock in Germany. What began in 2012 as a small festival at the AWO grounds in Netphen-Deuz has become an international pilgrimage site for the heavy underground scene. Bands from Sweden, the USA, Ukraine, Australia, France, and of course Germany play here one after another — and the audience comes from all over Europe to bathe in deep riffs for three days.
The motto "no Fillers, just Killers" has shaped the booking since the beginning: no filler acts, every slot counts. The festival bookers are heavy underground aficionados who invite international genre greats without drifting into mainstream booking. The 2026 headliner is the Swedish psychedelic voodoo troupe Goat, which has cult status worldwide with its masked performances and afrobeat-infused acid rock. Also playing are Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats (UK Doom Psych), Kylesa (US Sludge Reunion), Stoned Jesus (UA Stoner), and Long Distance Calling (DE Post-Rock).
The lineup has been complete since February 2026: Goat, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, Kylesa, Stoned Jesus, Long Distance Calling, Seedy Jeezus (AU), Isaiah Mitchell (US, Earthless), Tony Reed (US, Mos Generator), The Neptune Power Federation (AU), Håndgemeng (NO), Coltaine (DE), Upupayāma (IT), Zerre, Howling Giant (US), Child (AU), Messa (IT, Doom), ratsalad, BB Blackdog, Super Jet Kinoko, Fuzz Sagrado, and other acts. A curated range between Acid Doom, Heavy Psych, Stoner Blues, Sludge, and Fuzz Punk.
As in previous years, 2026 is again sold out. The festival accommodates around 1,500 visitors, keeping it deliberately small — the close, almost familiar atmosphere is part of the experience. Those hoping to snag a last-minute ticket in the final days before the festival have realistically very little chance. On freak-valley.de, there are occasional leftover tickets that disappear in seconds. Camping is possible on the festival grounds and is included in many tickets.
Netphen-Deuz is located in the southern Sauerland, directly on the Hellertal valley. Travel is feasible from Cologne (1.5h), Dortmund (1h), or Frankfurt (2h). Camping options are integrated into the ticket. Anyone who has been here knows: Freak Valley is not just a festival, but an international meeting point for the heavy underground family — a place where you sit next to the bassist of the band you'll be headbanging to tonight, on the campsite.
The 13th edition of the Freak Valley Festival takes place from Thursday, June 4th to Saturday, June 6th, 2026, at the well-known AWO grounds at Weiherdamm 3 in Netphen-Deuz. Three days of Heavy Psych, Stoner Rock, Doom, Sludge, Blues, and Fuzz Punk on two stages, with an international lineup from Sweden, Great Britain, the USA, Australia, Italy, and Germany. The headliner is the Swedish voodoo-acid troupe Goat. Camping is included in the ticket. The festival has been sold out for months.
