Market, Stage, and Drag at Kalle Halle
In just a few editions, QWEER Spring FEST has established itself as a central queer community date in Berlin's spring calendar. The format is hybrid — half market, half show: In the winter garden of the Kalle Halle at Karl-Marx-Straße 101 (Neukölln), over 60 LGBTQI+-owned brands set up stalls. In between, there are 18 international food stalls and stations for tattoos, nail art, and teeth gems. A packed program of drag performances, live acts, and queer comedy and lecture sessions runs on a stage from 3 PM to 9 PM.
2026 Edition on Saturday, April 18th
The next edition will take place on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at the Kalle Halle. Doors open at 1:00 PM, and the stage program runs from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Admission is intentionally donation-based: €5 is recommended, and payment is made according to ability. This underscores QWEER's commitment to being an accessible meeting point — also for people for whom traditional festival ticket prices are a barrier.
LGBTQI+-Owned Stalls
The strict curatorial line is noteworthy programmatically: each stall is centered around an LGBTQI+-owned brand. This promotes the queer economy itself — fashion designers, artists, jewelry makers, kink items, publishers, initiatives. The 18 food stalls are also predominantly run by queer restaurateurs. Queer studios offer live booking opportunities at the tattoo and nail art stations during the event itself.
Kalle Halle and Neukölln
The Kalle Halle is a flexible event venue on Karl-Marx-Straße — one of the central main arteries of the Neukölln district. The district is considered Berlin's most culturally diverse part, with a large queer community and a high concentration of queer spaces along Sonnenallee, at Hermannplatz, and on Reuterstraße. QWEER Spring FEST uses the Kalle Halle as a central meeting point that brings together different communities — drag performers, artists, consumers, and activists.
Lusty Ice — Young Queer Collective
The organizer is the Lusty Ice collective, which organizes queer-feminist and sex-positive events in Berlin. The online profiles @qweerfest and @qweerspringfest also emerged from Lusty Ice. Within the state of Berlin, in the Neukölln district, QWEER is one of the youngest but rapidly growing queer spring formats — complementing the city's major Pride summer events.
