FOstival is the festival by young people for young people in Forchheim. Young newcomer bands from the region rock the stage at Königsbad, complemented by a colourful supporting programme, discounted food and drinks, and free admission for everyone aged 12 and over. The volunteer-organised festival is part of the KulturSommerQuartier Forchheim and has become a firm meeting point for youth culture in Upper Franconia within a few years.

The fourth edition of FOstival will take place on July 3, 2026, at Königsbad Forchheim. From 4 PM to 10 PM, newcomer bands from the region will perform, accompanied by a varied supporting programme, and discounted food and drinks. Admission is free for everyone aged 12 and over.

In 2026, FOstival enters its fourth edition. The organisers are Forchheim's youth services in collaboration with the youth parliament. Integrated into the KulturSommerQuartier (June 12 – July 19, 2026), the festival day brings the youth element to the six-week open-air programme at Königsbad. Those who register in advance will receive a discount voucher for food and drinks.

Getting there

Forchheim is located in the district of Forchheim (Upper Franconia), reachable by train from Bamberg and Nuremberg, as well as via the A73 motorway. Königsbad is within walking distance of Forchheim train station.

The FOstival in Forchheim (Upper Franconia) is a young, volunteer-run newcomer festival specifically aimed at teenagers and young adults aged 12 and over. Initiated by the city's youth services and the youth parliament, the festival offers young bands from Forchheim and the Fränkische Schweiz a stage and creates a space where youth culture becomes visible.

The focus is on live performances by regional bands from the rock, punk, and alternative spectrum. The young acts get a real stage with sound system, audience, and professional atmosphere – an important building block for the regional music scene. The concerts are accompanied by a colourful supporting programme with sports and creative activities.

Königsbad Forchheim as the venue

The venue is the municipal Königsbad in Forchheim, which is transformed into the KulturSommerQuartier in the summer – a multi-week open-air series with twelve events ranging from music and theatre to literature. The FOstival forms the young, energetic pole of the programme.

Free, low-threshold, sustainable

Admission is free, and food and drinks are offered at discounted prices. Those who register in advance will also receive a voucher. The concept deliberately focuses on low barriers and a safe environment for young concert-goers – a format that is increasingly becoming a model in other cities.
