A New Festival for Forchheim
With »Brassd scho!«, the Junge Theater Forchheim is bringing a completely new wind music festival to life in 2026. From July 17th to 19th, 2026, the city centre of the Upper Franconian district town of Forchheim in the Forchheim district (Bavaria) will transform into a continuous concert mile. Around 30 hours of music will be spread across the weekend – one concert follows the next, sometimes on large stages, sometimes in courtyards, churches, and squares.
Wind Music in All Its Facets
The festival deliberately interprets wind music broadly: the spectrum ranges from classical wind orchestras and brass pop to programmes that mix brass instruments with electronic beats. The lineup includes international acts such as Shantel & Bucovina Club Soundsystem, trumpeter Rüdiger Baldauf, and flautist Eliza Marshall, complemented by regional bands and emerging ensembles from the Franconian music scene.
Concerts Throughout the City
Performances will take place at numerous locations in Forchheim's old town. The Junge Theater Forchheim on Kasernstraße is one of the venues, with performances also held in courtyards, squares, and historic buildings. The programme also includes participatory activities such as a flute workshop with Eliza Marshall for beginners and advanced players.
Admission
The festival uses a mixed admission model: some concerts require tickets, while others are free of charge in the open air – making wind music accessible to everyone in the heart of the city.
Position in the Festival Calendar
»Brassd scho!« takes place the weekend before the Forchheim Annafest, positioning itself as a new cultural highlight in the event calendar of the Fränkische Schweiz and the Forchheim region.
