Four-day street festival on Berlin's most beautiful neighbourhood street between the S-Bahn and Müggelsee lake
When the first bands plug in their amplifiers on Ascension Day, Bölschestraße between S-Bahnhof Friedrichshagen and Müggelseedamm becomes the largest festival mile in the Treptow-Köpenick district for four days. Over the years, the Bölschefest has become a firm fixture in Berlin's spring calendar – hustle and bustle amidst Wilhelminian-era facades, linden trees in fresh green, and the nearby Müggelsee, Berlin's largest lake.
Four days of live music on several stages along Bölschestraße: Thursday kicks off the Father's Day party with Mikey Cyrox, on Friday André Bahia presents his reggae-soul-jazz mix, and in the evening, the Blue Haley Band plays their big Fifties revue. Saturday is dominated by local clubs, martial arts demonstrations, and young musicians, with VICTORIA taking over in the evening with pop and party sounds. Sunday features Punch and Judy shows, the Köpenick brass band, and a relaxed DJ finale.
Between the stages, stalls stretch for about a kilometre, offering bric-a-brac, antiques, handmade goods, and stands from Friedrichshagen initiatives. The Bölschefest is also one of Berlin's largest flea markets, combined with arts and crafts and curious individual pieces – collectors should arrive early, as the good finds sell out quickly. On Saturday, the shops on Bölschestraße are also open until the evening.
Friedrichshagen, once an independent municipality in the Treptow-Köpenick district, is the Berlin suburb that has best preserved its neighbourhood identity: Wilhelminian-era architecture, Berliner Bürgerbräu brewery, S-Bahn connection, and a ten-minute walk to the Müggelsee shore. The Bölschefest reflects this mix of big city and province, of Kiez culture and folk festival – a piece of Berlin summer in its oldest recreational area.
Thursday, the traditional Father's Day, is always very busy. The stage programme ranges from reggae and rock'n'roll to a Fifties revue and a pop closing concert on Saturday evening. Sunday focuses on family and tradition. Stalls line the street from the S-Bahn station to Müggelseedamm – offering bric-a-brac, arts and crafts, Berlin beer, and street food of all kinds.
The Bölschefest 2026 will fill Bölschestraße between S-Bahnhof Friedrichshagen and Müggelsee for four days. The stage highlights according to the organizer's programme hauptstadtkultur.berlin and press sources (berlinmagazine.de, berlin.t-online.de):
