About Berlin E-Prix

For two days, the former Tempelhof Airport is transformed into the Tempelhof Airport Circuit — a racetrack for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, where GEN3-evo cars accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 1.82 seconds and reach top speeds of 320 km/h. Between morning qualifying, afternoon concerts, and the 4 PM race start, the Fan Village hosts a full-fledged city festival with sponsor stands, live music, and street food.

Electric Motorsport in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg District

Berlin has been a permanent race venue for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship since Season 2 (2014/15) and is one of the few locations where the purely electric racing series traditionally hosts a weekend with two races. The circuit uses the former taxiways and runways of the decommissioned Tempelhof Airport — a layout that fundamentally differs from classic city circuits: long straights, wide corners, and an unusually high number of overtaking opportunities.

GEN3 Evo and the Race Format

The current Formula E cars (GEN3 Evo) are the fastest Formula E cars ever produced: acceleration 0–100 km/h in 1.82 seconds, top speed 320 km/h. The organizer and the world governing body emphasize the connection between high-performance motorsport and sustainability. The series runs a full race program each day: Free Practice, Qualifying, Live Concert, Race Start at 4 PM.

Fan Village and District Character

Beyond the actual race, the Formula E Festival Berlin at Tempelhofer Feld attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year — families, motorsport fans, and Berlin's weekend crowd. The Fan Village offers street food, sponsor stands, driver interviews, and concerts. In 2026, Max Giesinger will be on the concert stage on Saturday and Zah1de on Sunday. The Tempelhof-Schöneberg district gains one of its most popular events each year with this festival.

The GEN3-evo cars reach 320 km/h on the long straights of the former airport. Grandstand tickets are historically sold out; Fan Village tickets generally remain available.
