Bautzen Air Days

Saxony's largest airshow

The Bautzen Air Days are the most important aviation event in the state of Saxony in August. Since its inception in August 2004 – with around ten aircraft at the time – the event has developed into the Saxon flagship for aviation enthusiasts. Held at Bautzen Airport in the Bautzen district, the airshow attracts thousands of visitors from Saxony and beyond the Lausitz region.

Show, Market, and Hands-on Activities

The program uniquely combines three worlds:

• Airshow: historic aircraft, aerobatic demonstrations by top pilots, model aircraft demonstrations, and pleasure flights for everyone (for a fee)
• Antique and Flea Market: the largest antique and flea market in the Lausitz region – an attraction in itself
• Hands-on Activities: tank driving (for adults), children's entertainment, presentations by associations, clubs, and the Bundeswehr

In 2026, among others, Lukasz Czepiela is expected, one of the world's best aerobatic pilots and a Red Bull athlete, who will perform spectacular maneuvers with his Zivko Edge 540.

Bautzen and the Lausitz Region

Bautzen, Sorbian Budyšin, is the unofficial capital of the Lausitz region – a region with an unusually rich history, shaped by the Sorbian minority, Gothic architecture, and an active brewery scene (Bautzner mustard, Bautzener beer). Visitors to the airshow should combine their stay with a stroll through Bautzen's old town – St. Peter's Cathedral, the Old Water Art, the Reichert Tower, and the Sorbian Cultural Information Centre are among the highlights.
