Summer solstice with free concerts along Dörpfeldstraße in Berlin-Adlershof
The Fête de la Musique is an event invented in Paris in 1982, taking place worldwide every year on June 21st – always free, always in public spaces. On this day, Berlin hosts events at dozens of locations between Reinickendorf and Treptow-Köpenick. Adlershof, a district in Treptow-Köpenick, has established itself as one of the most distinctive outposts since its first edition in 2016.
Instead of one large main stage, the Adlershof organizers focus on decentralization: around eight performance venues along Dörpfeldstraße, from the market square in the north down to the Verklärungskirche. Concerts take place in shops, courtyards, and in front of cafés – each establishment opens its doors. Thus, within a few hundred meters, you can wander from a singer-songwriter session in a photo gallery to a rock concert in front of the pharmacy and an a cappella performance in the church.
The organizer is the Aktive Zentrum Dörpfeldstraße, an initiative of local businesspeople. This makes the Adlershof Fête de la Musique a classic neighborhood festival: organizers and performance venues are often the same small businesses, from the Adler Pharmacy to the Venezia ice cream parlor. The district mayor of Treptow-Köpenick traditionally opens the festival at 3 PM on the market stage. Admission is free everywhere – yet a hat for the musicians is always ready.
The festival falls exactly on the summer solstice, making it the unofficial start of summer for many in Treptow-Köpenick. Families arrive early, the audience stays late, and the establishments along the street extend their opening hours. In Adlershof – a district primarily known for its science and technology hub – the Fête de la Musique acts as a counterpoint: less research, more neighborhood.
The Adlershof Fête de la Musique 2026 follows the proven format: live bands, solo musicians, and small ensembles perform simultaneously at several locations around the market square and Dörpfeldstraße between 3 PM and 10 PM. The district mayor of Treptow-Köpenick traditionally opens the event on the market stage. Admission is free everywhere.
The specific program – which band plays on which mini-stage – is usually published by the Aktive Zentrum Dörpfeldstraße a few weeks before June 21st. Those who wish to be informed in advance can subscribe to the organizer's newsletter or regularly check the event page aktives-adlershof.de.
The complete lineup with band names and schedule will be published shortly before June 21, 2026, at aktives-adlershof.de.
S-Bahn lines S8/S9/S45/S46/S85 or S46 to S Adlershof, then a five-minute walk to Dörpfeldstraße. Tram lines 60, 61, or 63 to "Adlershof." By car, park in the side streets; Dörpfeldstraße is partially closed at the market square.
All concerts are free. A hat is traditionally passed around for the musicians.
A folding chair or picnic blanket for longer breaks between sets, possibly a sun hat – the main stage at the market square is without shade.
