Egmating Festival Week – 65 Years of the Burschenverein and 150 Years of the Fire Brigade

Double Anniversary in the Festival Tent

In May 2026, the Egmating festival grounds will become a focal point of Upper Bavarian festival culture. Egmating is a municipality in the Ebersberg district, east of Munich. Celebrating 65 years of the Egmating Burschenverein and 150 years of the Egmating Volunteer Fire Brigade. Both associations are jointly organizing the festival week.

Six Days of Programming

From May 13th to 18th, 2026, one program item will follow the next daily: beer tapping on Wednesday, Burschenfest on Thursday, wine and beer festival on Friday, big DJ night on Saturday, fire brigade festival on Sunday, and Kesselfleischessen with Dr. Markus Söder on Monday. Musically, the Glonner Musi, the Lustigen Bergla, and national DJs like Luca-Dante Spadafora, Niklas Dee, and DJ mashx will provide the atmosphere.

Pure Bavarian Festival Culture

The festival week follows the tradition of Upper Bavarian association anniversaries: the Burschenverein and the Fire Brigade are the pillars of village life. The memorable program items – beer tapping, Burschenfest, Kesselfleischessen – are genuine Bavarian classics. The official opening ritual with Hefe-10-Bier and Reindlessen (a traditional dish) and the appearance of prominent guests like Bavaria's Minister President Markus Söder at the Kesselfleischessen underscore the festive character.

Meeting Point for the Region

With the Glonner Musi and dance bands from the surrounding area, the festival attracts the population of the entire Ebersberg district and the neighboring districts of Munich, Rosenheim, and Erding. Throughout the week, the festival tent offers Bavarian Gemütlichkeit (coziness) with beer, Brotzeit (snacks), and exuberant spirits.
