The Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern are among Germany's largest classical music festivals. Throughout the summer, they present around 120 concerts at numerous venues across the state. Schloss and Gut Ulrichshusen, located in the Mecklenburg Lake District on the shores of Ulrichshuser See, has been one of the central festival venues since 1994 and is closely linked to the festival's history.

Festspielscheune and Feldsteinscheune

The heart of the manor is the historic barn, converted into the Festspielscheune, boasting excellent acoustics. It is complemented by the Feldsteinscheune, which provides a fitting setting for chamber music programs. The combination of old architecture, expansive landscape, and high-class music makes Ulrichshusen particularly appealing.

The 2026 Programme

The 2026 festival summer once again brings a packed concert schedule to Ulrichshusen:

• July 19 – Cellist Anastasia Kobekina with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, performing works by Rossini, Stravinsky, Vivaldi, and Tchaikovsky
• July 31 – "Das Sommerfest" (The Summer Festival) with clarinettist Sebastian Manz and the ensemble Quasi Cool Seven, bridging jazz and classical music
• August 15 and 16 – Themed weekend "360° Mythos Orchester" (Mythos Orchestra) with the NDR Radiophilharmonie under Cornelius Meister, featuring orchestral talks, workshops, and concerts such as "Who Plays First Violin?", "The Concert of the Future", and "In the Midst of Sound"
• August 23 – Chamber concert featuring works by Rebecca Clarke, György Kurtág, and Johannes Brahms
• August 30 – "Quasthoff & Friends" with Thomas Quasthoff
