The Amtswehrfest 2026 will take place on Saturday, May 30th, starting at 11:30 AM in Basedow. Annual festival of the volunteer fire brigades in the Malchin district on Lake Kummerow with competitions, presentations, and a public program. All residents are warmly invited.

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, starting at 11:30 AM, the Basedow Volunteer Fire Brigade will host the Amtswehrfest of the Malchin district on Lake Kummerow. On the festival grounds in Basedow, the local brigades will compete in disciplines such as extinguishing attack, knot tying, and obstacle course. In parallel, operational vehicles and technical equipment will be exhibited; demonstration drills will provide insight into the work of the volunteer forces. Catering, a family program, and hands-on activities for children will complement the day.

By car via the A19 (exit Linstow) and then towards Malchin/Basedow. By train to Malchin, from there a few kilometers to Basedow.

Concept

The Amtswehrfest brings together the volunteer fire brigades of the Malchin district on Lake Kummerow for a joint annual festival. A different location hosts the event each year; in 2026, Basedow will be the venue. The festival combines internal competitions — extinguishing attack, knot tying, obstacle course — with a public program for citizens.

Program

During the day, the brigades compete against each other in various competition classes; in parallel, operational vehicles, technical equipment, and demonstration formats are presented to the public. Catering with snacks, coffee and cake, hands-on activities for children, and a family program round off the day. In the evening, there is traditionally a social program with live music or a DJ.

Local Context

Basedow is a small community in the Mecklenburg Lake District (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), nestled in the Lenné park landscape on Lake Kummerow.
