The 2026 Festival of Arts brings three crossover and tribute concerts to the Konzertkirche Neubrandenburg: "Ostrock Klassik Deluxe" on April 24th, "The Watch plays Genesis" on November 7th, and "The Magical Mystery Band" on November 28th. Tickets via Eventim and festivalderkuenste.de.

Throughout 2026, the Konzertkirche Neubrandenburg will host three concerts of the "Festival of Arts". The series combines the sacred concert hall atmosphere with popular music history — classical-pop, Ostrock symphonics, and rock tribute acts. This format is finding an increasing audience in Northern Germany.

In April, "Ostrock Klassik Deluxe" dedicates itself to GDR rock heritage in symphonic arrangements. In November, with the Italians The Watch (Genesis tribute) and the Magical Mystery Band (Beatles + Pink Floyd), two of Europe's most distinguished tribute acts will perform.

Recommendation

Early arrival recommended — the acoustics of the Konzertkirche are particularly good in the front rows and the nave.

Concept of the Festival Series

The "Festival of Arts" uses the Konzertkirche Neubrandenburg — a modern venue within a Gothic brick framework — as a stage for sophisticated tribute and classical crossover programs. Three central concerts will take place throughout 2026: Spring (April), Autumn (November), and Late Autumn (November).

The Three Concerts 2026

April 24, 2026 — Ostrock Klassik Deluxe. With "Die Ossis" (band musicians from the East German rock scene), the Berlin Symphonie Ensemble, and solo singer Carie van Heden. The greatest hits of Ostrock (City, Karat, Karussell, Pankow, Silly etc.) in symphonic arrangements — a format that combines GDR rock with classical orchestral sound.
November 7, 2026 — The Watch plays Genesis. The Italian tribute band The Watch plays early Genesis albums: "Trespass", "Nursery Cryme", "Foxtrot" and other progressive rock classics.
November 28, 2026 — The Magical Mystery Band. Active for over 20 years, the band presents Beatles and Pink Floyd repertoire.

The Konzertkirche

The Konzertkirche Neubrandenburg is the city's former Gothic Church of St. Mary, which was rebuilt after destruction in the 20th century starting in 2001 according to plans by Finnish architect Pekka Salminen into a modern concert hall made of glass, concrete, steel, and wood. Today, it is Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's most acoustically and visually striking venue.
