African Culture in Regensburg
The Farafina Afrika Festival brings the diversity of the African continent to Regensburg. "Farafina" means "Africa" in the West African Bambara language – the festival is supported by the German-African Cultural Association Farafina e.V., which is committed to intercultural exchange and encounters.
Music, Drums, Dance
The focus is on live music from Africa: bands and musicians from various regions, plus drum performances and dance performances. The stage is the pulsating heart of the festival, and the audience dances along.
Market and Culinary Delights
A market with handmade goods, art, and African treasures invites you to browse. In addition, there is authentic African food and drinks – a culinary journey across the continent.
Family Festival with Children's Program
The Farafina Afrika Festival is explicitly a family festival: a bouncy castle, face painting, video installations, and dance activities for children and young people make it an event for all generations. The festival is supported, among others, within the framework of the federal program "Demokratie leben!".
Free Admission
Admission is free, no registration is required. In 2026, the festival will move to the Regensburg Stadtpark on Prüfeninger Straße for the first time – more space for the stage, market, and family activities.
